How do I work?

If you’re looking for guidance through challenging times or you’re ready for a new direction in your life, I’m here to help you achieve your goals.

Every client of mine is unique. So I approach each of my client’s treatments individually using 16 years of experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, and Solutions Focused Therapy.

What does this mean for you?  We’ll work together to identify problematic thought patters and behaviors. We will then work to reprogram your current thoughts and introduce healthy behaviors that reinforce the life and attitudes you wish to have.

What do I treat?

ANXIETY

Anxiety, from generalized anxiety disorder to panic attacks and specific phobias, can paralyze your life, taking over every waking moment.  Fortunately, anxiety responds very well to CBT in conjunction with relaxation techniques to restructure the anxious thought patterns in order to allow your body to finally relax.

DEPRESSION

Depression doesn’t just drain your potential — it can cause you to lose focus, joy and hope.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy assists you in addressing core issues at the root of your depression.  As you let go of negative self talk and replace that with positive self-affirmations, amazing change is possible.

the Past

The past can be anchor — both tethering you to the bad memories and keeping you from moving forward into the present day.  In therapy you’ll identify and acknowledge past issues, receive validation with regards to your emotions and begin the process of closure.  The end goal:  The past no longer intrudes into your daily life.

Relationships

Relationships require a balance between self care and care for others.  The only problem is keeping that balance.  Therapeutic guidance enables clients to focus on self care without guilt or fear and finally prioritize their own self worth and priorities.

stressors

Most people dislike or even fear change.  The unknown can feel terrifying, but change is inevitable and even necessary in our lives.  Having someone to guide you through this process can reassure you that you’re on the right path and that you’re not alone.
